Biographical Synopsis

An adventurer, philosopher, teacher, builder and seeker, Jamie has led an eclectic life fueled by his boundless curiosity and wonder, innate call for bringing people together and passion for embodying a lifestyle attuned with the natural world. Experiencing all this beautiful life has to offer .

With an origin story of a midwestern, modest, working class upbringing, his past provided values of integrity, resilience and perseverance.

After departing the cornfields of Northern Illinois to attend University in the city of Chicago, he would find himself immersed in the multiplicities that big city life would offer him. Receiving his degree in marketing and communications, playing football (soccer), living city life to the fullest, and establishing what was then one of the countries oldest gourmet cupcake emporiums. Yes, he spent 6 years bringing the vision of Pam Rose and Swirlz Cupcakes to life across Chicagoland with the slogan and mantra of “cupcakes make people happy.”

After 7 years, the open road and the wild of the western United States called. Traversing the magical landscapes of mountains, rivers and valleys via planes, trains, automobiles and hitchhiking, landing him in the Great Pacific Northwest. Nestled in the Puget Sound between Tohoma (Mt. Rainier), the Cascades and Olympic mountain range, his first rebirth was on the horizon.

Recently diagnosed with ulcerative colitis after months of testing, pricking, prodding and guestimations, he was given two options by western medicine: medication and/or surgery. which would have left this athletic and vibrant 26 year old man with a manufactured colostomy bag as his “new colon”.

The small voice within said “leave this hospital, find another way, their offer will be here if it’s truly the only method of healing”

And so he did, he walked out and never returned. Over the coming years he would find healing and harmony through trusting his intuition, nerding out on research and truly surrendering to the process of trial and error; experimenting on himself, influenced by healing strategies utilized by the People’s across the globe for millenia.

Over the next decade, Jamie would radically heal not only his physical body, but his emotional, psychological and spiritual bodies as well. Embodying the belief that under the right conditions and allowed ‘time’, the body would do what it is designed to: heal and thrive.

In the beginning, removal of inflammatory contributors such as gluten, dairy, wheat, alcohol, manufactured and processed foods provided the space and’ time’ for ancient eastern remedies to take root. This opened the path to methods of fasting, juicing, adaptogenic inputs and more radical approaches of plant spirit medicines, urine therapy and others which will go unnamed.

Diving deep into the yoga, mixed movement and ‘conscious community’ worlds while in Seattle, then Phoenix, then the open road; focused on his nutrition, inputs, community and access to nature, the radical approaches to self care were truly opening him into deeper resonance with his Self and thus, with others.

He has spent time as a participant, facilitator, community organizer, event producer, ambassador, and supporter for the organizations CorePower Yoga, Budokon University, Wanderlust Festivals, and lululemon athletica. Opening, what was then, the newest region for CorePower Yoga in Phoenix, AZ; opening five studios, leading teacher trainings and developing the CPY vision for community yoga between 2015-2018.

A perpetual student of life, there was a massive awakening on the horizon, and though healing was occurring on all levels, there was deep wounding that was screaming to surface, thus…while living in the great Columbia River Gorge, cradled in old growth oaks, between volcanoes and glacial rivers, his romantic partner shared the following:

“You’re a nerd on research, you love studying history, you love taking things apart and putting them back together,
are a builder and a seeker…why are you unwilling to do this with your self?”

This evocation absolutely blasted Jamie open, and from there, in the wise words of Trevor Hall: “he turned his gaze within and started knocking on his own door.”

This would lead to dark night of the soul after dark night of the soul. Uncovering his core familial, ancestral and society wounding’s, deep rooted shame and guilt, looking at trauma he never associated with, removing masks, de-programming the indoctrinated western mindset and freeing himself of lack, scarcity and conditional love.

This time period of his life, this awakening, involved getting radically honest with himself to then make the necessary choice to embark upon the greatest adventure of his life: the treacherous journey from head to heart.

He chose to no longer walk the path of the lone wolf, to no longer stuff down all the emotion he was taught as a boy to keep hidden. To not only de-armor his heart, but to trust that he could be vulnerable, honest and open and would be received with grace, compassion and love.

He reached out for support and found an embodied group of men who he could trust with his raw and recently unbridled heart. This container of men is where he would truly receive his first right of passage at the age of 35, engage in the sacred act of remembrance with Mama Cacao, his highest plant ally and medicine of the heart; and observe the unearthing of his purpose and dharmic path.

After his first experience with Sacred Sons, he experienced what he observed was lacking in all the other communities he had been a part of…people truly committed to doing their own work, without competition or façade. He was all in, immediately called to give back by supporting production, ceremony and facilitation of these Embodied Masculine Experiences; hosted and held in the wondrous mountainous settings of the Great Mother.

During his Leadership Training through the pioneering Embodied Masculine Movement of Sacred Sons, lead by Chief Kareem, the concepts of creating and holding a sacred and safe container for people to be seen and heard, void of attempt to “fix” or “heal”, not only took root, but flourished into a fruiting tree of how he is to be of service to his fellow brothers and sisters; and in the wise words of Charles Eisenstein: “to be put to good use.”

Jamie Light Heart is the embodiment of a lifetime of experiences and truly believes our greatest path is to walk home to our own hearts, alchemize with the energies and essences that lay dormant and emerge into the magnificent divine artist of life we each are destined to be.

Jamie is here in presence, to be put to good use and to make the revolution irresistible.

A Lifestyle of Love awaits.
